Staying Connected in a Wireless World
"We want your business." Certainly you’ve heard that before, and you shouldn’t be surprised. You’re important. Your industry, mobile electronics—particularly mobile handsets—is vast. But what is a vendor going to give you in return? How will the memory company you choose connect? How will they help? Is the answer that they just supply a component in your yard-long bill of materials?
Certainly you need good memory components and good memory technology. From Micron, quality and innovation are almost a given. For years, we’ve developed some of the industry’s best mobile memory solutions, including just about everything that goes in an MCP. But we believe that there’s more, or at least that there should be more. How about a real supplier relationship? How about a real connection that gives you VIP treatment and gives you access to extensive and expert mobile application design and development resources? You see, at Micron we don’t just want your business. We want to be connected. We want to be in lock-step with your design needs. We want to be a one-to-one design and development resource for your major mobile designs. We want to be connected so that we can help, so that we can lend you every possible aid where your memory selection, design, and supply are concerned.
HD-SIMs Enable Secure Multimedia Content for Mobile Devices
The mobile-content market is taking off, but it won’t get far without the right memory solution. Existing technologies like SIM cards and USIMs simply aren’t robust enough to support the massive memory needs of the market.
HD-SIMs are an optimal solution because they combine the advantages of existing smart-card technology and high-density, nonvolatile NAND Flash memory to benefit content providers, operators, and users alike.

As a designer, you have to balance performance, board space, and power-budgets and still deliver feature-rich, memory dense mobile designs. Our managed NAND (e-MMC) can help make that balancing act a little easier regardless of density. These e-MMC devices combine high-quality, low-cost NAND Flash memory with a high-speed MultiMediaCard controller in a low-profile BGA package. It essentially transforms a program/erase/read device with bad blocks and bad bits into a simple write/read memory. This managed interface addresses potential NAND design concerns internally, using error correction code (ECC), wear leveling, and bad block management technology. Handling errors internally takes the burden off the host controller and increases speed, providing higher system performance.
Hands down, our goal is to provide you with great memory and great technical support. From our data sheets and sim models, to our software support and local FAEs, we work hard to make your job easier. We even work closely with chipset providers and mobile OS designers—we were the first memory partner to enroll in the Symbian Ready VERO for NAND Flash program, for example—to make it simple for you to implement our memory solutions.
Rev Up Your Designs with our New 200 MHz, 512Mb & 1Gb Mobile DRAM
When your mobile solution uses a powerful new 512Mb or 1Gb Mobile DRAM that delivers clock speeds of up to 200 MHz and transfer speeds of 400 Mb/s, you can power a plethora of precedent-setting features and gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Speedy Mobile DRAM is just one example of how Micron is committed to mobile electronics.
CellularRAM™ Memory – A Mobile-Specific Solution
Do you ever feel like some companies design devices without ever talking to anybody in the industry? It’s like they think that if they build it, you will come. At Micron, we design products to meet specific customer needs. CellularRAM™ memory is mobile specific PSRAM with asynchronous/page and burst flash interface.
Low-Power Memory for Better Battery Life
Our Mobile DRAM devices are yet another example of how we work with you to develop just-right mobile memory solutions. Imagine your customer texting, listening to an MP3, and surfing the net on your device when the battery runs down. Not good. It’s clear you need lower-power memory to help extend battery life in your mobile design.
